Adaptive Dance (age group is flexible, teachers’ discretion)

Adaptive Dance is a class designed specifically for children with developmental challenges who want to learn dance, yet may have difficulty participating in a traditional dance class.  It is designed to bridge the gap between a general adaptive movement class (like ConfiDANCE), and a traditional dance class.  It uses a variety of techniques designed to educate and challenge children 7-12 (there is some flexibility to this age range, at the teacher’s discretion).  Children will be introduced to a variety of dance styles including jazz, tap, and hip hop.  Parent participation is not required, but is always welcome.  A parent/caregiver must remain on the premises for the entire duration of the class.  Read More about Adaptive here.

ConfiDANCE 1

This fun and energetic class is designed to provide children, age 3-12, of all abilities, the opportunity to explore dance and movement in a safe and adaptive environment, using a multi-sensory approach.  A different theme will be used each week to give the dancer the opportunity to experience a variety of music and dance styles.  A mixture of props, such as hoops, feathers, parachute, and scarves may be used to help encourage imagination and aid in the development of motor, sensory, and coordination skills.  Parent/caregiver participation is strongly encouraged.  A parent/caregiver must remain on the premises for the entire duration of the class. Read More about ConfiDANCE here.
