Adaptive Dance (age group is flexible, teachers’ discretion)

Adaptive Dance is a class designed specifically for children with developmental challenges who want to learn dance, yet may have difficulty participating in a traditional dance class.  It is designed to bridge the gap between a general adaptive movement class (like ConfiDANCE), and a traditional dance class.  It uses a variety of techniques designed to educate and challenge children 7-12 (there is some flexibility to this age range, at the teacher’s discretion).  Children will be introduced to a variety of dance styles including jazz, tap, and hip hop.  Parent participation is not required, but is always welcome.  A parent/caregiver must remain on the premises for the entire duration of the class.  Read More about Adaptive here.

ConfiDANCE 1

This fun and energetic class is designed to provide children, age 3-12, of all abilities, the opportunity to explore dance and movement in a safe and adaptive environment, using a multi-sensory approach.  A different theme will be used each week to give the dancer the opportunity to experience a variety of music and dance styles.  A mixture of props, such as hoops, feathers, parachute, and scarves may be used to help encourage imagination and aid in the development of motor, sensory, and coordination skills.  Parent/caregiver participation is strongly encouraged.  A parent/caregiver must remain on the premises for the entire duration of the class. Read More about ConfiDANCE here.

Come learn a variety of fun dance moves and get a great workout, all while building confidence and developing new friendships!  In this class, we will explore a variety of different dance styles, from jazz to modern, to hip hop, as well as learn new dance routines to upbeat songs.

This adaptive class is open to teens of diverse abilities (13+) and encourages fitness, strength.
